CSD13 Schools' (30 passenger bus) request for purchase FY 2027 was approved on 1/9/2026.     

New Bus Details

• The new District-owned bus, a 2025 Collins DH500, 6.6L Chevrolet Gas Engine bus will be purchased from DeVivo Bus Sales this month.  

• The bus will hold 29 passengers; the first row of seats are equipped with integrated child seats to transport our prekindergarten students safely.  

• The bus will have a stop arm, child alert system, and four camera REI system.  

• The cost is $102,000 to be financed through Santander Bank.  The school budget will pay $22,594. each year for 5 years.  After the first year, the state will subsidize this purchase at the rate set through the ED279.  

• The district will pay for a service contract utilizing mobile repair for planned maintenance.

The Union 76 Transportation Request For Proposal was sent out to potential bidders on January 20, 2026.  The timeline for this RFP is as follows:

RFP Issue Date: January 20, 2026

Written Questions Due: January 30, 2026

Last Date for Answers or Amendment: January 30, 2026

Submission Deadline for Proposals: February 13, 2026

Public Opening of Proposals: On or after February 13, 2026

Anticipated Award Date: March 13, 2026

Contract Start Date: July 1, 2026

At the Union Meeting on March 9th at 4pm at Sedgwick School sealed bid for student transportation services received by the deadline of February 20 was opened and read aloud.  The Union Board awarded the transportation contract to Brown’s Busing.  The contract starts July 1, 2026.
