Curriculum & Testing

Math Curriculum - We use the common core state standard to guide our math instruction.  The materials we use to help students learn are developed by Great Minds, Eureka Math.

ELA Curriculum - We use a workshop model to teach reading and writing. As with math, we use the common core state standards to guide the instruction and assess reading with the Fountas & Pinell

Project-Based Learning (Science & Social Studies)  - As we move towards project-based learning we look to the NextGen Science Standards to guide our Science instruction.  We work to incorporate them with common core reading and writing and the Maine Learning Results Social Studies Standards to integrate the subject areas into meaningful 21st Century projects to help students engage in their learning and make connections.\

STEAM - Science, Technology Engineering, Art, and Math. We have introduced a new STEAM Position to our rotation of classes.  The STEAM teacher works with the classroom teacher to develop exciting ways of integrating classroom material to STEAM

We are developing a scope and sequence for SS and Science to prevent repetitions and aid in integration,

As part of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) federal law, we are required to provide to parents and community members the NCLB report card.
